CHILDREN
AND YOUTH
Activities for children and youth are
incorporated into most aspects of the Church's programming. The
Church Family Life Ministry Team organizes programs and activities
that are designed to meet the needs and concerns of families. Listed
below are some of the specialized and ongoing children and youth
programs.
Church
School Classes
Church school
classes meet on Sunday morning. Children attend worship for the
first part of the service, and then leave for classes after the
Children's Time. Infant care is provided in the nursery. Classes
use a variety of age-appropriate curriculum resources. Take-home
packets for parents with activity suggestions help reinforce weekly
lessons.
Each year we
need a registration form to be filled out for each child (even those
returning from prior years); the form may be accessed here.
Middle
School Youth Fellowship
The Middle School
Youth Fellowship (informally known as J.U.M.P., for Junior United
Methodist People) is open to those in the sixth, seventh and eighth
grades. The group usually meets twice a month throughout the school
year for fellowship and service activities. Friends are always welcome.
Senior
High RPMs
This ecumenical
group is open to students in grades nine through twelve. Weekly
meetings are held with youth from the Reformed, Presbyterian, and
Methodist churches (hence the name "RPM"). Recreational
and mission programs are led by professional staff.
Confirmation
Led by our pastor,
confirmation is open to those at least 12 years of age or in eighth
grade. The program is designed to help participants understand their
faith as they prepare for church membership.
